Under supervision, the Employee/Labor Relations Coordinator will assist with maintaining programs focused compliance, employee relations, and policy development and updates. Additionally, the coordinator will plan, coordinate, and carry out general and complex administrative tasks to support the Employee/Labor Relations team. The incumbent of this position will be required to exercise sound judgment, tact, and discretion to perform moderately complex, diverse, and confidential duties in support of the Human Resources department.

Essential Duties:

Providing administrative support to the Employee/Labor Relations team such as, but not limited to document formatting, word processing, photocopying, scanning, filing, archiving, and retrieval.
Proactively manage Outlook calendars and handle all scheduling matters. Schedule appointments and meetings. Coordinate and update any meeting request change that occur during the day.
Prepare correspondence, forms, reports and statistical charts using word processing software that is similar to the Microsoft Office suite of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Gather, review, and maintain employee related documentation such as disciplinary, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence, as requested.
Review employee file to answer inquiries and provide information to Employee/Labor Relations team.
Assist with the coordination of developing policies, programs and procedures related to employee relations.
Assist Employee/Labor Relations team during negotiation, including meeting minutes, version control of CBAs, and tracking on action planning.
Follow up on past due annual compliance of all employees including but not limited to annual health assessment, training, and performance appraisals, licenses.
Compiles and distributes weekly communications to Employee/Labor Relations team of status updates and any upcoming project, events, and changes.
Conducts research and gathers data for various HR projects and labor issues.
Supports department personnel as needed to perform miscellaneous clerical functions and special projects as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

Req High school or equivalent
Req 2 years Human Resources experience
Req Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
Req Proficient verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with all levels of staff.
Req Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Req Highly organized with a close attention to detail
Req Ability to manage competing, high-priority demands; prioritizing workload, managing projects and multiple responsibilities against strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:

Pref Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or related field
Pref Experience in the health care industry
Required Licenses/Certifications:

Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The hourly rate range for this position is $ $34.18. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
