Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Labor Relations Manager to join our team at Frontier Communications. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for implementing strategic planning and day-to-day administration in the area of labor relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement labor relations strategies to support business objectives, including improving customer service and operational efficiencies, and reducing costs.
  • Provide expert advice and counsel to management on the interpretation, application, and administration of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Evaluate and resolve grievances and other local conflicts resulting from labor agreements.
  • Provide guidance to management on discipline for potential Code of Business Conduct and Ethics violations or other misconduct issues.
  • Assist management with disciplinary conferences, particularly those associated with terminations.
  • Develop and implement collective bargaining strategies and negotiate collective bargaining agreements in support of business objectives.
  • Prepare compensation and other cost analyses and contingency planning for work stoppages.
  • Implement negotiated contract changes locally and in coordination with other departments.
  • Represent the Company in negotiations on an as-needed basis.
  • Prepare for and assist with arbitration and unfair labor practice cases.
  • Respond to union information requests.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with union leadership to foster and continuously improve union-management relations.
  • Provide Human Resources support as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with Talent Acquisition processes, including conducting onsite candidate interviews and providing counsel to management regarding candidates.
  • Lead onsite new hire onboarding, including completing I-9s and coordinating with HRIS, Payroll, and Security Teams.
  • Handle employee issues regarding wages, benefits, FMLA, accommodation requests, and performance management.
  • Facilitate Labor/Management committees and ensure their attendance, develop agendas, and provide support as needed.
  • Assist with online exit interviews and collection of company property.
Requirements
  • 4-year degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of Labor Relations experience
  • Demonstrated successful track record in collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration processes, labor-management relations, and Human Resources management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict through persuasion, mediation, and negotiation
  • Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws
  • Proficient in the use of computers, including Microsoft Office
