Location- on site, Berkley, CA

Schedule- 4 days a week

Responsibilities-

  • Collaborative Teammate: You will work as part of a cross-office, cross-discipline team of professional planners, designers, and technical staff who provide consultation to private non-profit, public agencies and private sector clients throughout the nation on projects that enhance community livability, support revitalization, and connect people with nature and culture.
  • Role: As the Accounting Manager, you will be a resource to all staff firm-wide and serve an integral role collaborating with the Controller, the Officers Team, and senior accounting team members and administrative staff. In addition, you will work with office leadership across the 14 offices to help to oversee the company's business and related administration/reporting, and support our accounting team. The first priority for this role is to assist the Deltek Vision conversion team to Vantage Point and assist in staff training. The other portions of the role would follow thereafter completing the software transition.
  • Duties: You will work closely with a diverse team of professionals to perform the following duties, which may be expanded to include new duties that will be identified in your professional development

Deltek conversion and ongoing maintenance

Assist in creating company financials and A/R oversight

Manage all payroll and other business/corporate taxes

Manage four (4) other sets of books for related entities, a non-profit and owned buildings.

Review incoming receipts, checks paid, and balances of bank account on a daily basis.

Assist in reviewing draft contracts for legal/indemnification language and ensure corrections are made

Business insurances

Serve as Project Accountant when billers are on vacation/short-staffed

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in any field. A degree in accounting, business management or related field is a plus.
  • 10+ years of relevant senior-level experience in accounting, managing projects, contracts, budgets and organizational finances for a $20M+ company is required. Experience in the A/E or consulting industry highly preferred
  • Experience working with (ideally supervising) a team of project accountants
  • Strong knowledge in GAAP
  • Excellent skills in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Software proficiency in a professional services accounting software (Deltek Vision and Vantage point is required), Adobe PDF, Word and Excel. Experience using Google Suite is a plus.
  • Trainable/coachable, can accept feedback, and are proactive, organized, efficient, and adaptable teammate who can work under deadlines and is willing to pitch in to help others.
