Job Summary:
The Los Angeles County Bar Association - LACBA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to join their team in Berkeley, California. As an Associate Counsel, you will play a critical role in the firm's class-action litigation practice, working closely with the senior attorneys to investigate and vet potential new cases, conduct research, and draft legal documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Investigation and Research: Conduct thorough investigations and research to identify potential new cases, including reviewing and analyzing complex legal documents and evidence.
- Legal Document Preparation: Draft and prepare legal documents, including briefs, memoranda, and other court filings, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Civil Discovery: Conduct all phases of civil discovery, including drafting written discovery, conducting meet and confers, and preparing for and conducting depositions.
- Expert Witness Identification and Preparation: Identify, select, and prepare expert witnesses to testify in court.
- Case Management: Assist in the management of assigned cases, including coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior attorneys and other team members to achieve case goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- JD with 2-3 years' litigation experience: A Juris Doctor degree with 2-3 years of experience in litigation, preferably in class-action and antitrust law.
- Highly accomplished academic and employment credentials: Exceptional academic and employment credentials, including federal law clerk experience.
- Exceptional analytical skills: Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year.
