Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Driver Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our driving team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing driver activities, ensuring timely and efficient pick-ups and deliveries, providing training and development, and optimizing route planning to enhance operational efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and performance standards.



Driver Operations Management:


-Oversee daily driver activities to ensure adherence to schedules, routes, and company policies.

-Monitor and manage driver performance, providing feedback and support to ensure high standards of service and safety.

-Resolve operational issues and address driver concerns promptly.


Pick-Ups and Deliveries:


-Coordinate and schedule driver assignments for timely and efficient pick-ups and deliveries.

-Ensure that all pick ups are handled according to company procedures.

-Track and report on pick up performance, addressing any delays or issues as they arise.


Training and Development:


-Develop and implement training programs for new and existing drivers, focusing on safety, compliance, and customer service.

-Conduct regular performance reviews and identify areas for improvement.

-Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to incorporate into training programs.


Route Optimization:


-Analyze and plan optimal routes to maximize efficiency and minimize fuel consumption and delivery times.

-Use routing software and GPS systems to monitor routes and make adjustments as needed.

-Collaborate with the logistics team to address any route-related challenges.


Safety and Compliance:


-Ensure all drivers adhere to safety regulations and company policies, including vehicle maintenance and inspection standards.

-Maintain accurate records of driver hours, vehicle inspections, and compliance documentation.

-Handle incident investigations and implement corrective actions as necessary.


Reporting and Documentation:


-Prepare and present regular reports on driver performance, operational efficiency, and compliance.

-Maintain accurate records related to driver performance, training, and route management.

-Provide insights and recommendations to improve overall transportation operations.


Qualifications:


-Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

-Proven experience as a Driver Manager or in a similar role within the transportation industry.

-Strong understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices.

-Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

-Proficiency in route optimization software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

-Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and make sound decisions.


Work Environment:


-This position may require occasional travel to visit drivers and inspect vehicles.

-The role involves working in an office environment as well as on-site at various locations.
