Position Overview:

The Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth by winning new accounts and expanding existing relationships within the industrial cable and cable harness markets. The ideal candidate is a highly self-motivated professional with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Growth: Develop and implement strategic growth goals for the Automation and Drive Business Unit (AD BU) in the Americas. Drive acquisition activities to onboard major target accounts in the automation industry for cable and assembly products.
  • Account Management: Manage key accounts, working closely with customer service and supply chain management teams across production sites in Mexico, Europe, and China.
  • Market Expansion: Actively participate in the ramp-up of cable assembly business growth in the Americas.
  • Sales Network Development: Build and expand the AD BU sales network in the Americas.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Develop professional forecasts, budgets, and plans to support strategic objectives.
  • Negotiation and Contracts: Lead negotiations on key contractual aspects and establish rules of engagement with new key accounts.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Assign objectives and responsibilities to direct reports, track progress, and report results regularly. Provide leadership to potentially build and lead a sales team in the future.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Communication: First-class communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Travel: Willingness to dedicate significant time to travel, particularly in the first few years.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience with industrial consumers of cables and cable harnesses.
  • Market Knowledge: Extensive market and account knowledge in the automation and drive arena, focusing on interconnection markets (cables, connectors, assemblies).
  • Technical Expertise: Ability to communicate technical cable knowledge (design, electrical parameters, materials) with engineers and customer stakeholders.
  • Negotiation Skills: Comfortable negotiating key contractual aspects with new key accounts.
  • Self-Motivation: Highly self-driven with structured problem-solving capabilities.
  • Integrity: Authentic, loyal, and reputable personality within the industry.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of growing business in specific regions or product divisions.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Cultural Experience: Experience working across multiple cultures and international facilities (Americas, Europe, Asia).
  • CRM Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM systems, especially Salesforce.
  • Industry Ties: Established connections with standardization committees (UL/PROFINET/PROFIBUS/CLPA, etc.).
  • Language Skills: Additional language skills in German or Chinese are advantageous.
  • Leadership Experience: Previous leadership experience with the potential to build and lead a sales team.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent education.
