Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Manager of Accounting to oversee and manage the company's accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in our financial processes. The Manager of Accounting will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements and supporting the company's growth and success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Support the CFO and senior management team with strategic financial planning and decision-making.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the company's financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency and ensure compliance.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and financial analysis.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, cash flow models, and variance analysis.
  • Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings.
  • Assist in leading and mentoring the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business operations and provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Managing and reconciliation multiple credit card vendors


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience in the retail industry is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Intacct) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices.
  • Sage Intacct and/or NetSuite, bill.com or similar, Concur or similar
