Charlotte, United States Junapr Full time

In this position, you will work as part of a team and are responsible for helping to develop client communication strategy and overseeing tactical implementation. While this is a highly tactical position, you will be responsible for managing the execution of client strategies and working towards meeting client goals. Your work will focus on public relations, including but not limited to media relations and social media.

This role is billable for a minimum of 32 hours per week; the balance of your time is to support administrative work (team meetings, self and team organization, professional development, etc.). You will be asked to track your hours daily using Harvest and have ongoing weekly communication with agency leadership. While agency work changes quickly from day-to-day, you can expect to perform the following duties:

Client Support

  • Contributing to client strategy and managing implementation, team deadlines, and working to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Support positive client relationships through the delivery of high-quality work through comprehensive research, content development and ensuring engagement results, producing meaningful media coverage, and executing marketing initiatives on behalf of our clients.
  • Contribute to the development of results-driven work plans and monthly reports for clients.
  • Participate in and contribute to client calls and client meetings. As needed, lead the calls and meetings.
  • Participate in development of agendas for these meetings and ensure notes are taken by team and stored in client folder.

Team Support

  • Support your co-workers through consistent communications and prompt attention to the client and internal/team needs.
  • Take active role in supporting team coordinators and specialists.
  • Implement tactical recommendations to support client strategies as directed.
  • Ensure internal and external deadlines are met and expectations are consistently exceeded.
  • Communicate frequently with team on project progress or status as appropriate.
  • Manage team recruitment of interns and mentor interns each semester, ensuring a productive and educational experience for them - and the firm.

Tactical Implementation

  • Carry out tasks assigned by the client lead and in support of the client goals.
  • Lead pitching efforts for media outreach on behalf of the clients you are working on to achieve earned media placements.
  • Work with the team to develop compelling content for media pitches, bylines, ghostwritten articles, email and social campaigns, press releases, fact sheets, video scripts, messaging, and more.
  • Support the development of media strategies through thorough research and strategic media list building. This includes creating targeted media lists by using PR software provided by the agency,
  • Work to build and cultivate relationships with key local, regional and national influencers across industries relevant to the accounts you work on.
  • As appropriate, draft content for and manage client social media channels using software provided by the agency.

Culture

  • Contribute to an environment of people and teams that value collaboration, teamwork, and exceeding client expectations.
  • Provide mentoring support to coordinators, specialists, and managing interns.
  • Be a daily consumer of traditional and non-traditional media, seeking out opportunities to implement new opportunities for clients.
  • Continue to look for opportunities to learn new skills that will benefit yourself, your colleagues, and our clients.
  • Celebrate successes

As with most job descriptions, this is not a comprehensive list of your tasks. Agencies are fast-paced, and you will be asked to work on additional tactics and perform other job-related relevant duties – most job descriptions list this under “and all other duties as assigned.”

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Communication/PR-related management position
  • 5+ years' of experience in communication/PR professional role(s) - not including internships
  • Experience posting and formatting content using a Content Management System (CMS)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
