The Business Development / Commercial Loan Officer will provide a high level of support to the Dakota Business Lending staff and the lending operations of the entire corporation. This position will focus primarily on the Northwest parts of Montana from Kalispell to Missoula to Great Falls and but should be willing to work in the entire state of Montana, if needed. Travel is required in these areas. This position will be remote and based out of Kalispell, MT. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and fostering relationships with lenders, small businesses, and economic development professionals; market and promote the loan programs offered by  the Dakota Business Lending; retrieving and assembly of loan information provided by lenders and small business to support the lending process; assisting in the preparation of loan packages; and in the assembly and preparation for submission to the DBL Montana Loan Committee and the SBA Loan Processing Center.


Responsibilities

-- Provide support, back-up, and be available to the Dakota Business Lending for such things as the marketing and promotion of the Dakota Business Lending loan programs to the public, originating and assembling loan applications to ensure applications are complete, retrieving required documents, creating and/or preparing correspondence, and in the development of loan applications.

-- Meet with lenders, small business partners, and economic development professionals on potential projects and projects in progress.

·-- Be available to field and answer any questions related to the Dakota Business Lending programs and be able to function as lead on potential projects.

-- Make presentations on Dakota Business Lending, its lending programs, and its role in the State.

-- Establish and maintain working relationships with lenders, small business, and others.

-- Assists in the loan application process by assembling and preparing loan information as well as assisting with the underwriting of credit requests to support the lending function.

-- Work with the processing staff to insure timely and accurate response from appropriate agencies such as SBA Sacramento, SBA Fresno, and the Services Corporation.

-- Input loan information into the Ventures and BMI loan systems.

-- Assist other loan officers and processing staff within Montana information, documents, and reports to the Montana Loan Review Committee (LRC).

-- Meet with lenders and small businesses to review the loan authorization & loan closing process.

-- Provide support and be part of the servicing personnel as directed and as needed to the loan servicing activities of the organization.



Qualifications

The person in this job should have at least a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field and at least four to six years of relevant commercial lending experience. Experience in commercial lending as it relates to SBA would be very beneficial. Must be able to work independently and have a knack for building trusted relationships with a variety of people and entities. Attention to detail is important to be successful in this role for understanding and compliance with regulations. Travel primarily throughout Northwest Montana is required.
