The HR Generalist will support hourly staffing (internal and external), onboarding, dispute resolution, time & attendance, grievance administration, and other HR responsibilities to support day-to-day operations.
Job Duties:
- Supports the site Employment Leader performing day-to-day tactical HR operations including facilitating team member internal movement, external postings and offer letters, data changes, shift and job transfers
- Responsible for the oversight and tracking of leave administration for hourly production workers to include STD/LTD, FMLA, Personal Leaves and employee absences that impact operations
- Provide counsel regarding contractual issues and policies and procedures to establish best practice for the site
- Assist with employee investigations, conflict resolution and administering discipline to ensure ongoing continuity of daily operations
- Supports the site HR Leaders with the administration of grievance procedure and issues that arise from the collective bargaining agreements disputes
- Gathers HR metrics from a variety of sources including Workday (HRIS), Kronos (payroll) and recruiting and leave tracking portals for data driven decision-making
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from a credited university; or
- Internship in Human Resources; or
- 2 years of progressive work experience in an office setting
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite - must be fully proficient (Word, Excel, etc.)
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in a union environment - Successful candidates will have this experience
- Background working in Human Resources - NOT staffing/recruiting roles
- Prior experience with Kronos (timekeeping) and Workday (HRIS) - flexible on timekeeping systems - Workday is a huge plus - however, if not they would need to be a quick learner
- Strong HR knowledge; experience in short-term leaves, investigations (we are NOT looking for Staffing/Recruiting backgrounds - we need candidates that have true HR experience). Labor Relations is the focus of this role working in a Union environment.
- Candidates will need to have a Bachelor's Degree and/or 5 years of relative experience to be considered for perm should this extend beyond.
- Will be working full-time On-Site in Erie - No remote work
- Strong communication skills - both written and oral - working with sensitive issues
