Cochran’s Fenton, Missouri location is looking for a Director of Construction Testing & Quality Assurance to join our team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead, manage, and grow the Construction Testing and Quality Assurance team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the department to align with company goals.
- Foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Quality Assurance and Control:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance and control programs.
- Ensure all construction projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Testing and Inspection:
- Oversee all aspects of construction material testing and inspection processes.
- Oversee testing lab (concrete, asphalt, rock, soil)
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results and inspection findings.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to address and resolve any quality issues.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to construction quality and safety.
- Keep abreast of changes in industry standards and regulations and update company policies and procedures accordingly.
Client Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding quality assurance and testing matters.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations to clients to ensure project success.
- Prepare and present detailed reports to clients and stakeholders.
- Relentlessly pursues work opportunities and shows accuracy in bid administration
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and innovations in construction testing and quality assurance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction testing, quality assurance, and quality control, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or other relevant certifications, preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
