JOB SUMMARY
The Regional Development & Membership Engagement Specialist will play a pivotal role in substantially increasing the membership base and fundraising efforts from both corporate and individual members and sponsors across the 16 Parish Region. This position will focus on face-to-face engagement, awareness events, and direct solicitations to foster community involvement and support for the mission of Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Membership and Sponsorship Growth:
o Create and execute plans to expand membership and sponsorships.
o Build and maintain relationships with potential members and sponsors.
o Develop proposals and presentations to secure commitments.
o Coordinate with Resource Development to align strategies with organizational goals.
o Oversee timely acknowledgment of donations and sponsorships.
• Engagement and Awareness:
o Plan and execute engagement events across the 16 Parish Region.
o Promote VOASELA’s mission through community events and presentations.
o Serve as the main contact for members and sponsors.
o Lead recruitment initiatives targeting the 26-48 age demographic.
• Fundraising and Solicitation:
o Conduct direct solicitations through meetings, calls, and written communications.
o Collaborate with Marketing to create promotional materials.
o Monitor and report on membership and sponsorship metrics.
o Perform administrative duties related to the role and department.
• Community Relations:
o Develop relationships with businesses, civic organizations, and government representatives.
o Represent VOASELA at community and networking events.
o Work with Marketing and Community Outreach teams to implement PR strategies and meet financial goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Non-essential)
• Adhere to the designated dress code as stipulated for the specific role.

KEY CONTACTS:
Maintains critical relationships with the following:
• Collaborate with Resource Development and Marketing Teams.
• Communicate regularly with Development Director, Department Vice President, and Executive Management.
• Build effective relationships with Programs, Accounting, and HR departments.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
This position requires knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to:
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in membership engagement, fundraising, or sales, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
• Proven track record of successful membership and sponsorship growth.
• Excellent communication, professional appearance and presentation representing the expectations of the agency and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva and donor management software.

• Flexibility to travel within the 16 Parish Region and attend evening and weekend events as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is primarily performed in a normal office environment generally while seated at a desk. Dexterity is required to performing work with personal computer keyboard, calculator and other office equipment
