Reports to: Managing Director, Annual Fund and Development Services

Summary:

The Development Coordinator is primarily responsible for the processing and acknowledgement of philanthropic gifts made to The Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Center, Inc. (POKC) as well as accurately maintaining the constituent database with account changes. The Coordinator will manage the donor phone line and inboxes as needed.

The Development Coordinator reports to the Managing Director, Annual Fund and Development Services and will work closely with the Manager, Development Services and other Development Coordinators.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collect and process daily contributions and create daily gift batches and provide daily batch reports as directed. Adjust gifts, pledges and payments as directed.
  • Produce gift receipts, individualized acknowledgement letters and membership packets as needed.
  • Accurately maintain constituent database, including duplicate account merges.
  • Add new constituent records to the database as needed, analyze information and populate all appropriate address updates and data fields where information is available.
  • Organize, coordinate and maintain the integrity of hardcopy gift filing system.
  • Respond to member/donor phone and email inquiries via the Member Services Hotline, membership email account.
  • Assist members/donors with ticket requests and special needs for events and performances.
  • Assist on an as needed basis with other Development administrative tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Detail oriented, well organized and strong work ethic in a confidential setting.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining data accuracy and integrity a must.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently as well as in team settings.
  • Flexibility and patience a must, along with excellent communication skills, reflecting a customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to handle member/donor complaints and problems politely and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new software.
  • Prior experience with customer relationship management software (CRMs) preferred; Tessitura experience a plus.

  • Office Environment
  • Must be available to work select nights/weekends for performances and events.
