Fast growing, West Coast Property Management and Development Company ) is seeking an experienced detail-oriented individual for the role of Payroll/Property Accountant.

The successful candidate would have a strong accounting background and analytical skills to handle the financial activities for a portfolio of properties; along with assisting our Payroll Specialist in the processing of our bi-monthly payroll for employees located in multiple states using Paylocity to process payroll.


This person will need to be highly self-motivated, capable of handling large volumes of work proficiently, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and perform well with little supervision.


General Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the month-end close, including preparation and review of journal entries, accounts receivable/cash and accounts payable transactions
  • Prepares and provides accurate and timely monthly financial statements
  • Prepares the month-end accounting closing packet for assigned companies and owners
  • Communicate effectively and clearly with all internal and external customers
  • Identifies and proposes solutions for automation and process improvement while ensuring daily responsibilities are completed with detail, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Reconcile bank deposits and credit card payments daily to the general ledger for a number store locations
  • Research and solve discrepancies including data input errors or system errors
  • Assist with B&O Tax filings in multiple states
  • Assist / Manage the Petty Cash Reimbursement process
  • Cross train with Payroll and provide backup when required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
  • 2 4 years of accounting experience
  • Property management a plus, but not required
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, and best practices
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and other leaders to achieve goals and successfully implement business initiatives
  • Excellent planning skills with the ability to define, analyze and resolve issues quickly and accurately
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully
  • Flexible, adaptable and can adjust to a rapidly changing and growing environment
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up
  • Very good with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
