Overall Responsibilities:
  • The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for managing the business and financial aspects of the school district.


Qualifications:
  • Must meet New Hampshire certification requirements for Business Administrator or become certifiable within 2 years of employment.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, School Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position demonstrating knowledge of budgetary processes, purchasing, inventory procedures, labor negotiations, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Additional Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for overseeing the Business, Transportation, Plant Operations, and Food Services Departments.
  • Coordinates the school district budget process and presentation.
  • Prepares long-range plans for operational and capital needs.
  • Negotiates costs in collective bargaining agreements and approves contracts.
  • Ensures compliance with laws and regulations in business operations.
  • Manages purchasing activities, financial reporting, and audits.
  • Supervises departmental Directors and Assistant Directors.
  • Administers policies for non-instructional use of school facilities and physical plant management.
  • Monitors staffing and budget needs.
  • Serves as a resource for special committees and oversees government reporting.
  • Maximizes state, local, and federal aid to the district.
  • Attends board meetings and performs other assigned duties.
