Location: New York, NY

Status: Freelance

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager of Creative will support the Creative Studio on creative projects. Ensuring quality of work, budgets, and deadlines are met while minimizing exposure and risk in each project.

Project Management
• 50% of role

  • Maintain production/execution schedule of all project deliverables
  • Manage all vendor resources regarding design and budget needs
  • Client interaction upon request for project execution / prototype or design installation
  • Creative input and knowledgeable on design direction to assist the Creative Team when required

Production Management and Sourcing
• 50% of role

  • Source a variety of project elements (fixtures, furniture, props, etc.) within project budgets
  • Assist Creative Team in maintaining production/execution schedule and estimates
  • Communicate all potential issues with timelines and budgets to assist in problem solving
  • Strategic, resourceful, and proactive in a reactive environment
  • Communicate effectively with internal department team

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create timelines, workflow, due-dates, and deliverables for projects
  • Take design concept elements and work with company resources to find cost effective solutions and options
  • Ensure that products are produced on time, to standard, track delivery, and meet budget guidelines.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ambition to have an impact on the business
  • Ability to determine new skill needs and to take initiative to rapidly develop skills
  • Strong digital document creation skills with layout experience using Power Point to properly facilitate creative decks
  • Ability and experience in understanding design trends for the purpose of communicating and confirming creative direction within assigned projects
  • Capability to rapidly absorb information and train yourself
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify, and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget
  • Experience coordinating multiple teams/resources both internal and external
  • Leadership skills

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in Creative Suite 5+ or Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • 5-7 years in a leadership role at retail or wholesale, preferably in a creative/design environment
  • High level client Interaction
  • Experience with process, design, and management capabilities
  • Experience with Budget Management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exemplary, proven relationships at retail a plus (department and specialty stores)
