Position: Legislative Affairs Specialist
Summary: This role is part of the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs (OLIA) within the Agency.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners of OLIA to support the legislative agenda
- Review, analyze, and report on legislative texts for NASA's Congressional committees
- Participate in developing hearing strategies and identifying Agency objectives
- Prepare information for Agency and program staff for Congressional meetings
- Provide analysis and advice on program issues
- Draft correspondence for senior NASA officials to Members of Congress
- Inform Congress and Agency staff of upcoming NASA activities
- Promote engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence, and innovation
- Champion NASA's commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility
Requirements:
- Specialized experience in legislative processes
- Minimum qualifications for GS levels 11, 12, and 13
- Ability to assess legislative processes and provide insight on congressional concerns
- Experience in preparing staff for congressional interactions
- Strong communication and analytical skills
Education:
- Degree from an accredited US college or university
- Evaluation of foreign education credentials if applicable
