American Wear Uniforms is in need of a Direct Sales Representative to serve as a key contact and consultant to our customers.

This role is important to the organization in terms of maintaining and growing customer relationships. The direct sales representative will interface with customers to facilitate the ordering of garments on a direct sale basis. The goal is to maintain relationships with existing customers, cultivate new customers and ensure the profitability of accounts.

The ultimate goal is to expedite the order process so that customers receive complete orders in a favorable time frame at a fair price.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop leads, schedule appointments, identify customer needs, and market appropriate products and services
  • Maintain customer information by updating spreadsheets, including contacts, email, and telephone numbers
  • Visit all customer accounts, maintain, and reestablish relationships
  • Work with direct sales department leads to meet and assess customer needs
  • Reevaluate pricing based upon recent increases from manufacturers
  • Be familiar with catalogue showroom on our website and San Mar catalogue
  • Learn custom emblem, embroidery and screenprinting process and pricing philosophy
  • Prepare orders by completing purchase order requests
  • Coordinate invoicing and delivery
  • Make sales callsprovide garments samples, embroidery samples and screenprinting sketches
  • Prepare customer proposals
  • Work with President (John Auriemma) on bids
  • Manage $1,000,000 per year in business
  • Measure accounts and train associates in this area Education and

Minimum Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required + ten years of relevant experience
  • Must have valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proven track record in sales
  • Documented ability to close sales Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Must have excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and time stressful environment required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
