JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education is seeking college students or individuals with backgrounds in education, business, computers, science, and engineering to assist instructors in week-long summer day camps for grade and middle school-aged students.

Responsibilities include camp set up/clean up, assisting instructors and students with projects, supervising students at breaks and lunchtimes, and promoting a fun environment daily. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, be able to lift and carry equipment and materials with or without accommodation, and enjoy working with children. Applicants should also be able to perform general office tasks such as answering phones, photocopying, and other miscellaneous tasks.

Camp Aides are needed June 24 through June 28, 2024, and from July 8 through July 12, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This position pays $14 per hour.

This job requires the following 3 publicly available clearances:

•PA State Police Criminal Background Check

•PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form

•FBI Criminal Background Check

Camp Aides must also successfully complete a Penn State online course entitled "Reporting Child Abuse Training."
