Welcome to our company We are looking for an Employee Relations Specialist to join our team. This role involves guiding management and employees on policy matters, compliance with employment laws, HR strategy, performance management, positive discipline, and terms of employment. Additionally, you will be the go-to person for questions, concerns, and complaints, providing general policy guidance and conducting investigations when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting initial intake assessment of new employee relations cases.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in areas such as employee relations, performance management, and workplace disputes.
  • Offering consultation and information to employees on conflict resolution and the Staff Dispute Resolution process.
  • Providing confidential support to management and staff, collaborating with Legal Counsel and key stakeholders to determine the best course of action.
  • Recording employee relations activities in a case management system.
  • Visiting departments for on-site problem-solving.
  • Assisting HR staff with policy guidance and unique situations.
  • Reviewing employment status changes for compliance.
  • Developing and implementing training programs for employees, managers, and supervisors.
  • Evaluating programs to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with the Institutional Equity Office and Title IX officers on discrimination/harassment complaints.
  • Participating in policy, procedure, and business process revisions.
  • Acting as the primary contact for Employee Relations in the absence of the Assistant Director.
  • Leading or supporting strategic projects.
  • Contributing to HR task forces and internal committees.
  • Performing additional duties as necessary to fulfill the role successfully.
