About the role Senior Accountant

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at Strategic Business Consulting Services. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing all accounting functions and providing financial guidance to the team, including project managers. This opportunity will provide a challenging and rewarding experience for a motivated and results-driven individual with a strong background in accounting.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.

- Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Ensure the timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of financial statements and other relevant documents.

- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and to improve financial processes and systems.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems, and to provide financial guidance and support to project managers and other stakeholders.

- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and success.

- Assist with external audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.

- Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to improve financial processes and systems.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related field, with a strong background in GAAP and financial reporting.

- Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain accurate and complete financial records.

- Prior experience in a construction environment is a plus, but not required.
