The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining their financial records, managing month-end close processes, and ensuring accuracy in their inventory accounting. This role requires a proactive individual who is willing to learn, engage with other team members, and work collaboratively to achieve their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Close:
    • Oversee and manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
    • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Manage Books:
    • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
    • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
    • Ensure compliance with appropriate accounting standards and regulations.
  • Manufacturing Accounting:
    • Oversee cost accounting and inventory valuation processes.
    • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
    • Work closely with the production team to understand cost drivers and implement cost control measures.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts, ensuring accurate and timely recording of inventory transactions.
    • Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
    • Collaborate with the operations team to optimize inventory levels and reduce waste.
  • Collaboration and Learning:
    • Engage with other office members and departments to foster a collaborative working environment.
    • Be willing to learn new processes, systems, and techniques to improve overall efficiency.
    • Provide training and support to junior accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification preferred or CPA eliglble
  • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
