The Sr. Innovation Finance Manager will be a key Finance partner to Marketing and the cross functional Commercialization team to drive growth and profitability.Provides financial guidance in cross functional project meetings and challenges assumptions.Responsibilities include financial analysis support for new products, reporting, and streamlining processes.Additionally, this role will represent Finance in all Stage Gates forums.This role will report into Brand Finance.

If you're based in the greater Bay Area, you'll walk into our Emeryville office each Tuesday morning and start the in-person portion of our hybrid work week at our weekly all-company meeting and find close to 200 of your colleagues sitting on sofas, beanbag chairs, or the floor excitedly talking through the week ahead and watching a newer teammate tell their personal life and career journey followed by a quick update on any hot topics that might be relevant to the week ahead.

Business Case Development: 65% of time
  • Full P&L ownership for all US Commercialization from Pre-charter through Post-Launch
  • Displaying expertise in brand-specific financials and deep understanding of Product COGS and Customer Trade
  • Actively participating in all cross functional project meetings, providing financial expertise and guidance; coming prepared with relevant benchmarks to aid in decision making
  • Challenging assumptions, pressure testing by leveraging historical data, benchmarks
  • Effectively communicating with cross functional partners to gather required inputs in order to deliver on timelines
  • Actively contributing to planning processes; owning long term planning assumptions for innovation and validating quarterly forecast and annual plan submissions
Enhancements: 15% of time
  • Establishing review processes with key stakeholders ahead of stage gate meetings, including Finance, Brand Teams, and VP of Finance
  • Identifying areas of improvement in innovation process and continuously making enhancements, to include development of new tools such as financial models, ROI analysis, and reporting
Stage Gate Forums: 10% of time
  • Establishing one on ones with key cross functional partners to understand upcoming projects, and Brand
  • Representing Finance in Stage Gate meetings through presenting financials, anticipating data / information needed for leadership team to understand and approve financials (benchmarks, current customer financials, detailed understanding of COGS drivers, potential project risks and impact on financials)
  • Finance leads to inform on status and roadblocks
Reporting/Analytics: 10% of time
  • Providing financial reporting and analysis: Postmortem (e.g. actuals vs. business case assumptions), portfolio management reporting/tracking, owning innovation input in KPI scorecard
  • Developing and maintaining innovation tracker reflecting project status
  • Special projects and responsibilities as requested by Brand Finance Leads
