The Ladders is dedicated to addressing homelessness through the empowerment of work and the strength of community. Our organization operates through two primary initiatives: the Volunteer Engagement Program, which provides a no-barrier entry point for individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk, engaging them in community enhancement projects while offering case management and employment support; and the Workforce Development Initiative, which employs individuals who are currently or formerly homeless and/or justice-involved in entry-level positions, providing them with coaching, case management, and access to training and certifications aimed at securing sustainable employment.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Program Operations Supervisor reports to the (Senior) Director of Programs or Executive Director and is accountable for the effective management and operation of all regional Workforce Development initiatives, overseeing a team of 3+ direct reports specific to various programs. These initiatives are designed to minimize barriers to self-sufficiency for Participant Employees through strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, while managing staff, workflows, and priorities across multiple projects and communities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as the direct supervisor for all (Sr.) Project Managers within the Workforce Development portfolio; conduct weekly one-on-one supervision sessions.
  • Deliver consistent and impactful job coaching and training to all direct reports, enhancing their understanding of their roles, addressing their needs, and fostering innovative ideas.
  • Utilize the Performance Management Tool to conduct competency evaluations for direct reports and create meaningful development plans to guide coaching for growth and improvement.
  • Oversee the successful daily operations, maintenance, and compliance of existing and future Workforce Development programs.
  • Participate in organizational meetings, including but not limited to Weekly Operations, All-Hands, Partnership Meetings, and Project Managers Meetings.
  • Maintain an inventory system and ensure routine maintenance of programmatic equipment, company assets, and supplies; identify cost-effective solutions for purchasing program materials.
  • Engage with participant employees in the field, acting as both a supervisor and role model for their responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with the (Sr.) Director and Executive Director to develop and implement operational practices for emerging business initiatives.
  • Effectively communicate organizational messaging, initiatives, and announcements established in meetings.
  • Foster and maintain relationships and partnerships within the Workforce Development programs.
  • Work closely with community-specific (Sr.) Project Managers to provide hands-on management of large work experience participant employees.
  • Ensure compliance with budgets and contractual obligations in cooperation with the (Sr.) Director and Executive Director.
  • Provide necessary coverage in the absence of local project management staff and support the (Sr.) Director of Programs.
  • Implement safety protocols and risk management practices to enhance workplace safety and reduce injuries.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Programs or Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in Project Management.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; adept at managing priorities and workflows.
  • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with data collection, analysis, evaluation, and scientific methodologies.
  • Cultural competence and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing essential job functions, the employee is frequently required to:
  • Engage in sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Utilize a personal computer, keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
  • Observe and solve problems; engage in reasoning and decision-making.
  • Perform intermediate mathematical calculations for budgeting purposes.
  • Use hand tools and power tools for manual assembly, construction, and general labor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Moderate noise typical of an open office setting.
  • Travel may be required up to 90% of the time.
  • Work environment and physical location may vary based on community needs and program requirements.
