Role Summary:
In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the VP of Accounting to facilitate monthly closing procedures, engage in specialized accounting initiatives, implement process policies, support audit inquiries, and contribute to ERP system enhancements. The ideal candidate will exhibit meticulous attention to detail, possess a strong operational mindset, and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Candidate Profile:

  • Inquisitive nature with a desire to understand underlying principles
  • Interest in consumer goods and direct-to-consumer retail sectors
  • Proficient in US GAAP, particularly in inventory accounting, with the ability to articulate and document accounting treatments
  • Consistently demonstrates high accuracy in work
  • Skilled in communicating complex information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Self-motivated and proactive, capable of independently managing and executing projects
  • Strong business insight coupled with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Adept at juggling multiple projects and collaborating across departments
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; CPA designation preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Preferred experience in managing teams
  • Background in retail or e-commerce industries is advantageous
  • Familiarity with NetSuite is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Accounting: Collaborate with the VP of Accounting to maintain and develop accounting policies, procedures, and documentation in alignment with US GAAP.
  • General Ledger Accounting & Financial Reporting: Oversee specific components of the monthly closing process, assist with budget analysis, create and review journal entries, and provide guidance on financial practices.
  • Financial Data Systems: Partner with internal data analysts and engineers to enhance financial reporting systems and facilitate integrations between ERP and other software tools.
  • Financial Audit Preparation: Play a crucial role in preparing for annual audits, including documentation and managing audit requests.
