SUMMARY:

Join our team at Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center as a Development Officer, reporting to the Executive Director. In this role, you will be a crucial part of our fundraising efforts, cultivating relationships with donors, and managing a diverse portfolio of supporters. Your focus will be on securing philanthropic support to help us continue our mission.

  • Add fundraising capacity by maintaining a portfolio of 50-75 donors capable of giving $5K and up
  • Manage the annual fund and monthly giving programs to ensure a strong pipeline of support
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and Executive Director to enhance donor engagement and retention
  • Work towards fundraising goals through private support from various sources
  • Engage in multi-dimensional fundraising strategies and cultivate partnerships with colleagues

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Study and understand the organization's history, objectives, and financial needs
  • Research grant opportunities from diverse sources
  • Draft and submit grant proposals based on funding requirements
  • Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and stakeholders
  • Produce compelling fundraising proposals and thank-you messages for donors
  • Develop messaging for fundraising appeals and oversee mailing lists
  • Coordinate fundraising initiatives through various channels like email campaigns and social media

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate for the Development Officer position at Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center is proactive, energetic, and dedicated to achieving excellence.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of two years of experience in grant writing
  • Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising processes
  • Strong research, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with integrity
  • Proficiency in computer skills
