Description
Establishes preferred supplier selection criteria based on supplier evaluations of price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance with procurement regulations. Develops new suppliers and supports new product development/strategic projects to ensure alignment with sourcing strategy. Procures material from suppliers following industry standards and internal policies and procedures. Support business needs with on-time purchasing, placing RFQs, processing purchase orders, updating purchase order status, accurate data entry in our MRP system, negotiating prices, etc. Works with cross-functional teams to ensure material availability, make demand-based purchasing decisions, and support on-time delivery.
This position offers the option to be fully remote, however it is preferred to have someone full-time onsite. RAM offers relocation assistance to successful candidates willing to move to sunny St. George.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee vendor order performance and manage assigned suppliers, ensuring adherence to all public law requirements, company policies, and import/export regulations.
- Initiate and receive Requests for Quotations and Proposals, conducting a thorough analysis of proposed pricing from potential suppliers.
- Source and procure a variety of goods and services from numerous suppliers.
- Collaborate with the quality organization to evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability and their ability to meet delivery schedules.
- Work closely with internal customers to ensure specifications suit the required services or products.
- Implement sound business practices and evaluate supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.
- Generate necessary documentation for the vendor payment process.
- Coordinate activities across multiple departments and sectors to meet deadlines.
- Support additional tasks as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field.
- Experience with procurement and supply chain processes.
- Exceptional communication skills with a focus on professionalism and detail, coupled with strong customer service relationship skills.
- Professional experience in supply chain management, business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, manufacturing, or a closely related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles, or experiences.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills and the ability to multi-task in a challenging environment.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong time management and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Professional experience in a regulated industry, preferably Aerospace & Defense.
- Experience with Government purchasing and contracting.
- ERP experience.
- Experience with procurement of machined components.
