Summary

The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs and ensures alignment with strategic business objectives to drive training initiatives, identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees and maintain high quality standards in instructional design and development for all methods of program delivery.

What You'll Do

• Conducts annual training and development needs assessment including assigning LMS classes.
• Develops training and development programs and objectives based on needs assessment and company’s goal and strategy. Develops annual training plan for corporate and workshop personnel.
• Writes and applies for grants to fund training for the corporate, filed and workshop employees.
• Administers spending against the departmental budget.
• Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
• Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
• Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events.
• Develops and maintains organizational communications such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
• Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
• Acts as an ambassador for the company, promotes diversity and company core values.
• Assessed program success by using KPI and metrics, Modifies programs based on results.
• Acts as company lead for performance management, partner’s with HR Director for 1:1 (bi- annual) engagement meeting set up, roll out and monitoring.
• Works with HR director to assist managers with career paths and employee development planning.
• Works on Global projects with the Global HRD Team.
• Partners with safety team and field operations to ensure proper training is assigned and completed.
• Partners with talent acquisition team to lead summer intern program and apprenticeship programs.
• Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
• Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff.
• May oversee the travel and immigration team.
• Special projects as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervises direct reports.
• Assists with interviewing and trains new staff.
• Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.


What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• Five years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs.
• Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential preferred.
• SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Must be able to interact successfully with all employee levels.
• Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
• Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
• Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
