Position Overview: Client company is seeking a talented and strategic VP of Business Development to drive the company's growth through strategic partnerships, collaborations, and licensing opportunities. The VP will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential opportunities, negotiating agreements, and building and maintaining relationships with external partners.


Responsibilities:

Business Development Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with Client company's corporate objectives and growth goals.Opportunity Identification: Identify and evaluate potential partnership, collaboration, and licensing opportunities that complement Client company's proprietary platform and strategic priorities.Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to assess market trends, competitive landscape, and commercial potential of target opportunities.Partnering and Negotiation: Lead negotiations and structuring of agreements with potential partners, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with business objectives.Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, biotechnology companies, and other potential partners.Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence assessments of potential partners and opportunities, evaluating scientific, commercial, and financial aspects.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including research, development, legal, finance, and commercial teams, to support business development activities and ensure alignment with corporate strategy.Pipeline Support: Provide strategic input and support to internal teams on potential collaborations and partnerships to advance Client company's pipeline and business objectives.Contract Management: Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and execution of partnership agreements, licensing agreements, and other contractual arrangements.Industry Engagement: Represent Client company at industry conferences, networking events, and meetings to promote the company's capabilities and identify potential business opportunities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, PhD) preferred.Minimum of 15 years of experience in business development, corporate development, or related roles within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.Proven track record of successfully identifying, negotiating, and executing strategic partnerships, collaborations, and licensing agreements.Strong understanding of drug development processes, including preclinical, clinical, regulatory, and commercialization considerations.Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders.Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends, assess business opportunities, and develop actionable plans to drive growth.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.Experience working in a cross-functional, matrix organization, collaborating with diverse teams to achieve common objectives.
