Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the on-going operation and revenue generating activities of Express.
  • This position will supervise the establishment and implementation of training programs directed at successful operational performance and operational career development, and the security of facilities, equipment, personnel, information and inventory.
  • Effectively lead / coach / mentor 16+ other GMs to success.
  • Identify stations that are deviating from plan and assist GM and Regional Managers in developing and executing action plans.  Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to keep leadership informed of financial and operational performance.  
  • Ability to administer / lead bi-weekly conference calls & originate safety topic discussion matter.
  • Enforce all WFS protocols and procedures to ensure that WFS continuously provides the highest level of Safety, Service and Operational abilities at all times.
  • Work with all other HDQ organizations to ensure the Operations point of view is represented.  Support ad-hoc projects as needed.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 5 years Sr mgmt. oversight of large ramp ops (Wide-body & Narrow-body ramp handling experience required).
  • At least 5 years Sr mgmt. oversight of at least 50 Ops staff including Leadership, Admin & daily interaction with GSE MX mgmt.
  • At least 5 years Sr mgmt. oversight of large warehouse operations (including build/break of domestic & Int’l cargo & truck load / unload Ops).
  • At least 5 years Sr mgmt. oversight of Security, Safety, Training, QA, including hands-on experience writing responses to government agencies.
Preferred Skills
  • Master's degree (M.A.) preferred, not required.
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language; Spanish is a plus.
  • Firm understanding and usage of Anaplan or equivalent software, ability to read and understand P&Ls, create or edit station budgets.
  • Must have a strong use of computer-based applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as ability to learn and use web-based programs for day to day management functions.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • Walk short distances.
  • Reach above and/or below shoulder.
  • Handle/grasp documents or office equipment.
  • Sit and/or stand for short or extended periods of time.
  • Lift/carry/move objects, files and documents up to 10 pounds.
  • Work in an office environment using standard office equipment.
  • Talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
