Accounts Payable and Receivable Specialist

Location: Middletown, CT

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable and Receivable Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of accounting experience, with a strong experience in both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions (80% AP, 20% AR). This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions and requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and sort documents and related information to support financial processes.

  • Verify transaction information to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Schedule and prepare disbursements, obtaining necessary authorization for payments.

  • Prepare and scan invoices for processing and archiving.

  • Track and record incoming payments from customers, ensuring timely updates to customer accounts.

  • Follow up on unpaid invoices and late payments to maintain cash flow.

  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; ERP and Concur experience is a plus.

  • High degree of accuracy and great attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
