Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is a key member of the BankNewport team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the accounts payable function. This role involves a range of accounting and clerical tasks, including receiving and processing invoices, reconciling transactions, and maintaining vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and reconcile accounts payable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
- Manage vendor relationships, including updating vendor information and maintaining 1099 records
- Prepare and process payment batches, including checks and ACH transactions
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions with the general ledger
- Provide excellent customer service to vendors and internal stakeholders
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in accounting or related field, with two years of equivalent work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
