Job Summary: The Executive Assistant I provides administrative support for a Dean, Assistant/Associate Vice President, or position of comparable size, scope, and complexity. Performs complex and non-routine administrative tasks. Acts as liaison of the executive and their office. Drafts and sends communications on executive’s behalf. Manages the office of the executive to include supervision of office staff. Oversees maintenance of all files, records, and reports. Oversee and works on special projects.

Additional Department Summary: Provides administrative support for the College of Engineering Dean and Senior Associate Dean. Serves as the administrative coordinator to ensure smooth operations within the College of Engineering and Office of the Dean. Plays an integral part of the College of Engineering Dean's Office and assists with a variety of functions that contribute to the success of the college.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of administrative experience; OR associate’s degree and three (3) years of administrative experience; OR bachelor's degree and one (1) year of administrative experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Punctual and reliable. Excellent communication and customer friendly service skills. Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic setting. Ability to work at a rapid pace with numerous interruptions. Ability to cope with stressful conditions. Demonstrated tact, versatility, and adaptability. Outstanding organizational skills as well as careful attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with UA operating software programs, including Concur, and knowledge of UA's financial accounting, purchasing, and travel policies and procedures. Must have the ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative, and understand the importance of professionalism and confidentiality.
