Senior Veterinary Assistant.
provides around-the-clock specialized care and treatment to hospitalized patients requiring intensive monitoring. We handle a diverse range of cases, including but not limited to GI, metabolic and respiratory emergencies, immune-mediated diseases, and heart failure. From basic patient care and TLC to advanced procedures such as oxygen therapy, total parenteral nutrition, and blood transfusions, our critical care nurses play a vital role in our patients' well-being.
We are currently evaluating applications from dedicated, reliable, diligent, and team-centric candidates who are prepared to integrate into our highly-trained veterinary healthcare professionals. Our mission involves not only partnering with a distinguished group of veterinary experts but also offering you a platform to develop and strengthen your skills.
The compensation range for this role is between $25 - $40 hourly plus a $5 overnight differential.
Provide nursing care to critically ill patients, ensuring consistent evaluation and monitoring
Obtain temperature, pulse, and respiration (TPR) measurements and maintain medical records
Recognize situations requiring immediate attention from a veterinarian
in the veterinary industry as a Registered Veterinary Technician, or
3 consecutive years of Veterinary Assistant
experience in an Emergency Room/Critical Care Unit setting
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients, demonstrating tact, patience, and professional courtesy while maintaining confidentiality and discretion
Hold or obtain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role (waived if a valid CA-RVT license is held)
