We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) HR Generalist to join our team in Cambridge.

The HR Generalist supports the daily operation and transactions of the Plant Human Resources Department. Assists the HR Manager for the organization to achieve overall plant objectives. Major areas covered are HR Department Administration & Reporting, Payroll coordination, New Employee Orientation, Training, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Communications, Benefits Processing, Health & Wellness, Safety Reporting and Uniform/Laundry Services.


Essential Functions:

  • Ensures consistent application of Human Resources practices and objectives for the facility.
  • Supports employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive Employer- Employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the Human Resources function (FMLA, ERISA, Wage & Hour, STD, workers compensation, unemployment insurance, etc.) Monitors exposure of the Company. Prepares the information requested or required for compliance.
  • Submit weekly Plant payroll to HDQ for processing and approve payroll reports for hourly workforce of the plant.
  • Protects interests of Employee and the Company in accordance with Human Resources practices and governmental laws and regulations. Reviews, with the HRM, recommendations for disciplinary actions and separations.
  • Manages the recruitment and onboarding process for the plant.
  • Manages the parking tag program.
  • Oversees the City of Cambridge internship program candidates
  • Oversees the Security Office record keeping
  • Supports the HRM with wage and salary programs, pay practices, employee benefit programs and services.
  • Manages the Laundry/Uniform program, ensuring effectiveness of cleaning.
  • Maintains the integrity of employee data and personnel files.
  • Oversees the vacation and personal day tracking and reporting.
  • Maintains and updates communications boards for the plant.
  • Manages plant events and celebrations.
  • Employee Safety – Coordinate events, First Responder program and generate reports as needed (OSHA Log).
  • Monthly reporting as required by the Corporate Office from the plant HR Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assigned the responsibilities of the HR Manager, including Food Defense and SQF responsibilities when the HR Manager is not on site.

Qualifications:


Education

  • BA/BS Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • Professional Certification in the Human Resources field is a plus


Experience

  • Generalist background with broad knowledge of Employment, Compensation, Management Practices, Training & Development, Compliance Practices, and Employee Relations.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • 1+ years of experience gained through generalist positions within Human Resources with increasing responsibility
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a must
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus
