Job Summary: The Y is seeking a Program Manager for our Y-Adventurers program, an action-oriented, year-long adventure program designed for parent/guardian and child pairs to strengthen their relationship through shared experiences. With a group in their community, adults and children will enjoy outdoor recreation programming, monthly meetings, and other activities centered around skill-building and fun. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring continuity of program and services while providing oversight and development to program staff and volunteers. This is a Seattle-based position that will require travel to various locations in King County and weekend outings across Western Washington. 

Minimum compensation:  $32.00-36.00/hr DOE

Qualifications 21 years of age or older Bachelor’s degree in relevant program or equivalent education or experience. Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered. Two years or more of related experience, with proven experience in training others. One or more years of experience with staff and volunteer supervision, program development, and budget management. Experience with and knowledge of youth behavior management and child abuse prevention. Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite. Ability to visit sites and community organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in relevant program or a closely related field from an accredited school. Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful. 

Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.

Expected Hours of Work:  This is a regular full-time position, and hours of work and days vary by program schedule. Frequent weekend and evening hours will be required as job duties dictate.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily local, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Essential Functions Establish new program activities and expand program(s) within the community in accordance with the Association and Branch strategic plans related to family support and outdoor recreation initiatives Develops and manages the budget. Ensure high quality programs through innovative program development evaluations and ongoing training of staff and volunteers. Ensure upkeep of related facilities and equipment. This safety-sensitive role requires transporting clients as “authorized drivers” for the Y. Potential offers will be contingent upon meeting the following conditions: Being 21+, having a valid driver's license for at least three years and possessing a driving record that meets Y standards (no more than two moving violations within the last three years, no significant incidents such as reckless driving, DUI/DWI, no tickets 20+ miles above the speed limit etc. within the last 5 years). You must also pass a drug screen that will test for impairing substances, including marijuana.
