As the Senior Manager, Technical Publications, you will be responsible for leading and building out your team, with an emphasis on delivering high-quality documentation for A10’s customers and partners.
Responsibilities:
Evangelize the role of Technical Publications and importance of high-quality documentation within the company at senior and executive management level, and influence high levels of cross-functional cooperationLead and participate in the timely design, production and delivery/completion of superior quality technical product documentation using internal and external resourcesReview data to determine, implement and support new processes, standards and tools in the technical writing function to drive quality, efficiencies and writing best practicesCreate, maintaining, and following consistent writing style standards and guidelines across documentation materialsDefine, document, and present strategy and roadmap for upcoming writing initiativesAdvocate subject matter expertise across the team for product knowledge, and product usage best practicesHire, attract, retain, and develop an international team of experienced technical writersProvide regular feedback and guidance from a performance and development perspectiveReport on the team’s performance and output to senior managementManage the budget, processes, and all team-related activitiesYour Strengths Are:
BA degree with 10+ years of technical publications experience and 5+ years of management experienceStrong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills, along with experience managing technical individuals in a fast paced, high growth environmentA proven track record with developing content strategy, the ability to drive continuous improvement and strong editorial eye for detailA strong understanding of networking technology and products, including BS in Telecommunications, CS or similar fieldA solid background in topic-based authoring and publishing to multiple channelsA proven ability to manage, prioritize and deliver projects to fulfil the demands from internal and external customers6+ years of experience in management in a technical publication environment, including experience managing remote employeesFamiliarity with tools such as MadCap Flare, FrameMaker, WebWorks Publisher essentialPreferred Qualifications:
CCNA-level expertise with layer 2-7 networking conceptsExperience with document repositories such as SVN, Perforce, Git, or ClearcaseExperience with coding in HTML and Python, as well as converting from FrameMaker to Madcap FlareYou are energetic, enthusiastic, resilient, and unstoppable in the pursuit of excellence and quarterbacking for your teamA10 Networks is an equal opportunity employer and a VEVRAA federal subcontractor.
