The Staff Product Manager employs technical expertise to define and oversee the product development process alongside cross-functional teams. This role involves engaging in technical research, product architecture, definition, marketing, and providing pre/post-sales support.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Stay informed on the latest data center innovations and Supermicro's embedded offerings.
- Collaborate with product managers and system engineers to create technical marketing presentations and white papers for online publications and industry event promotions.
- Actively engage in learning and researching emerging technologies and products to propose new Proof of Concepts.
- Partner with Sales, FAE, and customers to deliver networking solutions and technical insights.
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in system engineering related to embedded hardware products.
- Possess familiarity with server architecture (including PCIe, SATA, and SAS protocols) and OS concepts, with knowledge in distributed computing being advantageous.
- Have expertise in configuring Windows Server, Ubuntu, and Redhat Enterprise Linux.
- Basic proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Linux Shell, C/C++, JavaScript) is highly desirable.
- Understand server hardware and architectures, including PCI express and OOB management.
- Exhibit strong technical writing and effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of server systems, PC systems, and computer peripherals is highly valued.
- Demonstrate strong initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Be a creative thinker, capable of developing innovative strategies and solutions.
- Maintain a solid understanding of market trends and customer requirements.
- Possess strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
