a Media is hiring a Full-Time Business Development Manager to join our growing Commerce division.

The Commerce Business Development Manager will be critical in growing our affiliate marketing division by passionately building brand partnerships and selling multi-level affiliate campaigns. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the success of a leading digital media company.

The ideal candidate should have a passion for client acquisition, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a relentless partnership focus. This individual must be able to think strategically, uncover the business needs of brands, and have a proven ability to close deals that develop high-growth client partnerships. Candidates with a strong understanding of affiliate marketing, e-commerce, and the media industry are preferred.

Responsibilities include networking and outreach, building account ownership by understanding clients’ strategic objectives, business requirements, operational challenges, buying decisions, contractual processes, internal dynamics, and managing key stakeholder expectations.

This individual should possess deep client acquisition expertise and have previously worked in an organization where they had sales/business development responsibilities with a track record of success and new business growth. We expect this manager to bring an existing list of brand relationships. This position will carry an annual revenue goal and a core focus on affiliate campaign sales and new partnership acquisition.

This position may be remote (East Coast preferred) or New York City – If in New York City, our downtown Manhattan NYC office operates on a hybrid schedule, three days in the office and two days remote.

Responsibilities:

Market Expertise: Deep understanding of the affiliate industry, with a proven track record in selling collaborative programs. Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and implement an inside sales strategy that targets and wins high-end accounts. Relationship Building: Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the luxury, retail, and CPGl sectors through virtual channels. Key Account Onboarding & Management: Experience in launching, managing and growing key accounts nationally. Sales Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills tailored to high-end clientele. Tech-Savvy: Proficient in affiliate networks, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales management tools. Proven Track Record: Experience building strong relationships with named advertisers, agencies, and affiliate networks with outbound outreach to shape new business opportunities and large deals for various verticals. Analytical Skills: Analyzing the business potential, building the sales plan and strategies to grow existing business, developing new client relationships, and selling new campaigns. Proficient in analyzing sales data specific to trends, competitive positioning, and customer preferences. Sales Pipeline Growth: Building sales pipeline and managing sales projections and revenue forecasts. Affiliate Partnership Expertise: Facilitate “Forever Partnerships” with clients by aligning and executing on a long-term partnership vision Front-Facing Client Leadership Experience: Ability to navigate client and prospect organizational structure to establish and nurture a strong network of relationships at various levels Media Experience (Preferred): Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth with new and existing customers and act as a point of escalation for any potential issues.

Required Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in sales and or business development experience, preferably within the affiliate marketing industry and/or media industry Experience in performance media and/or e-commerce business models Demonstrated track record to surpass targets and significantly grow the scale of the business partnerships Experience driving revenue growth with emerging opportunities and established partnerships. Exceptional communication and presentation skills with an emphasis on translating insights, product information, and data into client value. Highly collaborative and ability to work amongst a geographically distributed team An existing roster of clients and connections in the affiliate space Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Data Experience: Proficiency in Excel, e.g., vlookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, Looker reports, AI tools. Affiliate Experience: Background working with affiliate networks (such as CJ, Rakuten & Impact) and with affiliate data systems (Trackonomics, Affilimate, etc.) Media or e-commerce Industry: Prior media and/or e-commerce experience
