Reports To: Director of Stewardship & Development

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm, Evenings and weekends, as needed

Summary: The Associate Director plans, directs, and coordinates development and major fundraising activities for the benefit of the Catholic school community in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. The Associate Director will establish an annual strategic plan, meet Archdiocesan goals for funding, conduct an annual appeal, execute events, and maintain database for advancement activities.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities:

Lead the development and prioritization of fundraising efforts for Hope for the Future in alignment with the priorities of the Department of Catholic Schools. Cultivate support of Hope for the Future while working closely with the volunteer development board. Identify, cultivate, solicit, recognize, and retain major donor support for Hope for the Future in collaboration with the Director of Stewardship & Development including correspondence, phone calls, and face to face meetings. Educate donors and the public about the mission, vision, and activities of Hope for the Future and the Archdiocese of San Antonio though a coordinated marketing and engagement plan. Conduct annual appeal including direct mail solicitation, dissemination at Catholic Schools, and social media. Lead the planning and execution of the annual Khaki & Plaid gala. Develop new fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the board and Department of Catholic Schools. Collaborate with the Grants Manager in preparing grants by providing program and budget narrative as requested. Develop young alumni group to foster support and engagement from Catholic school alumni. Serve as a resource to Catholic schools in fundraising and development strategies at the local level. Provide professional development opportunities to the Catholic Schools. As appropriate, collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders for strategic planning, cultivation, solicitation and understanding of the needs of the Catholic school community. Coordinate and oversee volunteers for special events. Regularly attend and participate in archdiocesan functions and events. Support mission awareness and education efforts for the Department of Stewardship & Development. Adhering to safety training and protocols daily and taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others. Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information. Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory. Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree Nonprofit Management, Social Sciences, or in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in non-profit fundraising and development.

License and Credentials:

Reliable transportation Valid driver license Valid vehicle insurance

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

Working knowledge of fundraising strategies and principles Knowledge of tax planning principles and techniques that favor charitable giving Working knowledge of development information systems Practicing Catholic with working knowledge of the Catholic Church preferred. Bi-lingual is a plus, but not required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with donors and prospects, fundraising colleagues, leadership, and volunteers. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, CRM, etc. Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team; Must have good written and verbal skills; Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Travel Requirements: Travel requirements for the position includes 20% local and 1% overnight.
