Job Summary:
The Program Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, development, direction and training all Storage Center services and staff. This position will oversee storage center service delivery ensuring that services are provided in a low-barrier and trauma informed approach. The Program Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day activities and working collaboratively with internal departments and community departments to provide quality services.
Skills and Minimum Qualifications:
Lived experience preferred
Minimum of three years of experience in homeless and housing services preferred
Two years of supervisory experience preferred
B.A. in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or other related field. Masters degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or other related field preferred
Should possess strong analysis abilities, creative thinking and ability to problem solve on an organization-wide basis
Demonstrated knowledge of issues facing program participants (e.g., health, substance abuse, mental health, etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Must be able to perform electronic data entry
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, including customer service focus in working with all internal organizational levels and external contacts
Must be highly collaborative within a team environment
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to coordinate multiple projects/tasks simultaneously in a within tight department metrics and deadlines. Possess ability to manage conflicting priorities and projects
Exceptional organizational skills detail-oriented to review information and ensure accuracy
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Ability to work with diverse populations
Ability to proficiently operate a PC, MAC, fax, and telephone
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead
Occasionally lift and/or move, push and pull up to 25 pounds
This position requires travel to multiple locations. Travel percentage: 25%
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide overall direction and oversight of all programmatic components, including accurate, up-to-date data collection, quality assurance and contract management adhering to expectations set for in the Storage Center Scope of Required Services. Includes but is not limited to:
- a. Manage timely progress of program goals, objectives and performance targets, making necessary adjustments in a timely manner in order to improve outcomes.
- b. Ensure program/contract compliance as per guidelines and requirements mandated by funder for client property storage service
- c. Conduct regular file reviews to ensure accuracy and integrity of all documentation.
- d. Assist with client issues as needed (crises and grievance resolution)
- Oversee the development, enhancement, delivery and modifications (as needed) of services provided, adjusting when necessary
- Oversee facility upkeep by ensuring all equipment and property is in properly functioning, maintenance issues are report, and that property is clean
- Hire, train and supervise all Storage Center staff
- Serve as agency representative at professional and community meetings such as working/planning groups, and coalitions
- Collaborate/participate in fundraising efforts to support program operations as needed.
- Coordinate with other agencies and partners to ensure consistent and accurate dissemination of information, provision of services and adherence to program requirements
- Provide feedback in the development of written rules, procedures and program guidelines
- Maintain accurate and complete participant files, exit files, timesheets, daily activity logs (if applicable), mileage logs, payment reimbursement, HMIS and other reports as required
- Establish and maintain positive, productive working relationships with mental health programs, shelter programs, local law enforcement, local neighborhood councils (and other local officials), and other community based organizations
- Attend staff meetings, case conferences, training workshops. and community meetings as needed.
- Ready to sub another’s role if needed due to absence
- Collaborates with outsourced security guard to ensure safety measures are implemented to keep clients and staff safe
- Implement crises de-escalation interventions as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using alcohol and drugs, and who may not be attentive to basic personal hygiene, health and safety practices. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the clients use of alcohol and drugs, and lack of personal hygiene. The employee must be ready to respond quickly and effectively to many types of situations, including crisis situations and potentially hostile situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in an office setting. Sometimes work may become stressful when working under pressure.
