Regional Sales Manager

A Regional Sales Manager is responsible to grow, expand, and maintain revenues and clients, and hire/manage/coach/mentorall Account Managers and Technical Sales Support (TSS’s) within the adding region.
Accountabilities
Hire, train, coach sales team with setting account strategies, crating sales plans, developing proposals, negotiating contracts, and assisting with key client accounts, as neededAssist and mentor Account Managers and Technical Sales Support (TSS) team members to effectively manage their local regions, and help in identifying and closing dealsConduct ongoing recruitment and interviewing of candidates for the purpose of acquiring talent to support the attainment of business objectives. Responsible for succession planningRegularly call on existing clients, building, and leveraging relationships and improve the organizations competitive positionCollaborate with leadership to establish and execute sales and profit goalsManage the overall business portfolio to maximize territory revenuesUnderstand market and competitor activity and respond accordinglyEnsure customer satisfaction; promote communications and coordination between operations and customer service to deliver exceptional service to clientsHandle disputes and conflicts and troubleshoot with clients (when requested)Actively participate in the development, growth, and retention of the top branch accountsDevelop sales force skills by evaluating sales team strengths/weaknesses Conduct annual Employee Development Plans with team members Attend department meeting and submit reports (expense reports, sales reports, etc) in a timely mannerMaintain positive relationships with vendorsManage a “CRM system” and sales tracking systemsAccountable for ongoing forecasting Understand, accept, and support ACT’s core values and ProACTive Safety ProgramKnowledge, Skills and Ability
Business acumen, including budgeting and forecasting skillsExcellent verbal, written, listening, persuasion and interpersonal skillsExcellent Problem-solving attitudeMotivational and relationship-oriented styleExcellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms such as Sugar or Salesforce.comA strong work ethic and positive, supportive attitude. Ability to be a self-starter, manage multiple priorities and manage detailsStrong judgement and decision-making skillsStrong customer service orientation Ability to set clear objectives and measurements Ability to work through conflict management and settle disputes Ability to negotiate effectively Training and presentation skillsPrevious experience with interviewing, hiring, developing and managing employeesMust have working knowledge of hazardous waste disposal and treatment methodsMust have working knowledge of regulations that pertain to position (i.e., 29 CFR, 40 CFR, 49 CFT, Title 22 CCR, etc.)Education/Experience
5+ years of directly managing a geographical diverse staff with sales and revenue responsibilities5+ years prior sales experience with a proven track record of success in the environmental industry is preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (Technical Science, Chemistry preferred) Successful track record in account management and development Valid driver’s license 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferredOther Information
