Department Overview

Gas Operations oversees the natural gas transmission and distribution operations. The team maintains and operates 6,700 miles of gas transmission pipeline, 43,000 miles of distribution main, 3.6 million gas services, three PG&E-owned storage facilities with 102 BCF capacity, nine compressor stations with 175K HP, and 5,000 measurement and control facilities. Gas Operations is comprised of approximately 6,000 coworkers. 

 

Position Summary

Manages various aspects of safety culture, human performance (HU) and coaching program implementation.  Evaluates programs to monitor effectiveness and adjust as necessary.  Responsibilities typically include the following in support of Gas Operations teams for the attainment of program metrics/objectives. May participate in and/or lead development and implementation of other related programs and initiatives.

 

  • Manages relationships with and provides direction to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develops, measures, and reports on the successes and/or gaps of the assigned programs and initiatives.  
  • Identifies and maintains strong working relationships with strategic programs and partners.
  • Identifies stakeholders and communicates internal and external to PG&E    
  • Identifies new partners, technologies, and delivery channels,and scans the horizon for opportunities to incorporate new methodologies and benchmarking 

 

This position is hybrid, working with frontline employees from your remote office, at PG&E work locations, and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $​140,000

Bay Area Maximum: $238,000

&/OR​

California Minimum: $​133,000

California Maximum: $226,000

  • Participates in industry forums, benchmarking, and applies best practices.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience. 
  • Job-related experience, 10 years

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in safety, Human Performance, Business, or Engineering
  • Extensive use of personal computers, telephone conversations, conference calls and in person meetings.
  • Travel will be required up to 50% of the time.
  • Experience and/or exposure to Human Performance concepts and applications.
  • Basic understanding of safety culture and behaviors
  • Combination of frontline facing and office-based responsibilities
