The Information Technology Support Tech provides support to the IT Director in all aspects of the IT department. The Support Tech will consistently perform in a manner that produces quality-oriented results, provides prompt and professional service, and consistently seeks to improve the efficiency of the company through the use of technology. The Support Tech will continue to expand their own knowledge, consult with resources, and provide training on the technology to people throughout the company.

Job Responsibilities:

Installations

  • Install all facets of POS systems
  • Install low voltage cabling, audio and surveillance systems
  • All necessary operating system and software installations
  • Follow through on all Service installations (HSIA, Wi-Fi, cabling, cc processing, etc)
  • Schedule and Conduct POS Training for new store staff
  • Store Level Support
  • Ensure POS functionality at all retail locations and HQ
  • Troubleshoot software issues via phone as well as on-site when necessary
  • Setup and configure LAN, WAN and VPN networks and devices
  • Provide first-line support for retail stores and corporate office
  • Research and Document all Software Issues, and trace to resolution
  • Provide credit card support to stores (troubleshoot, resolve thru credit card vendor)
  • Rotating after hours and weekend on-call remote support
  • Routine schedule maintenance at retail locations and HQ
  • Maintain AutoTask ticketing system documentation, metrics and goals
  • Work with colleagues on planning and organizing installs and support
  • Provide first-line support for the stores and corporate office for all IT issues
  • Research and Document all OS and Hardware Issues, and trace to resolution
  • Coordinate replacement hardware through IT Director
  • Assist IT Director with researching new Technologies
  • Update Installation Procedures as new Equipment becomes available

Job Description – IT Support Technician

Training & IT Policy/Procedure enforcement

  • Ensure Hardware is used correctly, and that regular maintenance/cleaning is occurring
  • Emergency System Kits – ensure all stores keep the kits ready for use and know how to use them.
  • Monthly reports – monitor to ensure all stores stay in balance. Resolve issues, and tailor training to prevent future issues.
  • Provide on-going training to boost efficiency POS Windows and Office products
  • Maintain knowledge base solutions and other documentation
  • Inspect stores and ensure that Security Standards are intact: Virus Protection Backups E-mail Security and Spam Control Company use practices, and no user-installed Software is present Integrity of Security Policies and Passwords OS Updates

Security Cameras

  • Provide training to store managers
  • Keep camera address log updated, and update addresses for DM’s/Office
  • Continue to monitor online access, support, and re-training

Travel

  • Up to 25% travel in Texas
  • Complete any additional assignments as directed by the corporate office or the Director of IT.
