Role Summary
The Nutritional Support Technician plays a crucial role in assisting with the collection of data for nutritional assessments and dietary histories, including engaging with patients to gather necessary information.

Key Responsibilities
1. **Regular Attendance**: Maintain consistent attendance and may be required to adhere to specific shift schedules, including rotating shifts or overtime as needed.
2. **Data Collection**: Assist in gathering essential information to support the nutritional screening of newly admitted patients under the guidance of a registered dietitian. Conduct patient interviews to collect relevant dietary history data.
3. **Monitoring and Reporting**: Observe patients and relay pertinent information to the dietitian to enhance nutritional care.
4. **Documentation**: Keep accurate records related to patient nutritional care, including setting up diet cards, maintaining diet rosters, and revising documentation as necessary.
5. **Patient Education**: Aid in delivering nutrition education to patients and their families, ensuring proper documentation in medical records.
6. **Menu Planning Support**: Assist in the planning of menus by gathering dietary restrictions and preferences from patients and communicating this information to the clinical dietitian for approval.
7. **Additional Duties**: Participate in various tasks as assigned, including supporting the agency's responsibilities for disaster response and operational continuity.
