Position Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Manager is responsible for manufacturing support of high-quality products on time and at budgeted cost. This will be achieved by providing leadership and direction to functional manufacturing departments such as Molding, Extrusion, Assembly Automation and Packaging departments.

This position is 100% onsite at our Southington, CT manufacturing facility. To be considered you must upload a resume or fill out the application in it's entirety. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Participate with peers, superiors, and subordinates in achieving key metrics that drive performance and improvements. Participate in the development of key departmental metrics. Provide direct supervision, guidance, and leadership to the managed departments. Ensure all personnel are trained with the necessary competencies to perform assigned work. Assure compliance with company policies and regulations. Achieve the annual operating budget for assigned departments including headcount, expenses, and capital expenditures. Review and approve personnel changes in the department including hiring, firing, discipline, transfers, and promotions. Provide leadership in Employee Safety Anticipate and react to shortage of materials, equipment problems and personnel concerns to avoid negative impact on production goals and objectives. Support process improvements, meet, or exceed cost reduction goals and develop programs for implementation. Establish and implement best practices related to the systems and processes that support planning, scheduling, purchasing and inventory control. Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing Finished Goods inventory, safety stock, and target inventory strategies for existing items, new products, and product phase-outs. Coordinate and proactively communicate supply shortages and plans for recovery with customer service and demand planning teams. Assume leadership role in the identification and resolution of various problems affecting production. Perform these and other duties as necessary or required, the inclusion of which will not alter the basic scope of the position . Regularly interact with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship. Coordinate activities to ensure departmental compliance to all Federal, State, Local and Company regulatory requirements. These elements include FDA, EPA, OSHA, ISO, EEOC and Company policies relative to the manufacture of product, lot control requirements, documentation requirements, housekeeping, preventive maintenance, calibration, associate training and safety (equipment, associate and material). Actively demonstrate support through interactions with solid communication skills, attitude, dedication, commitment, respect, pride, and trust.

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

8+ years of progressive experience in Manufacturing leadership, with 3 to 5 years in a Production and/or Manufacturing Manager role. A minimum of 4 years of experience in a high-volume facility with demonstrated skills in effective management, planning, supervision, administration, and associate relations. Background in Automation, Injection Molding and/or Medical Device manufacturing required. Bachelors degree required Comprehensive knowledge of technical service practices, processes, procedures, and production support activities including efficiency levels and productivity standards. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with diverse groups of people. Demonstrated success in implementing large-scale improvements and changes in complex and diverse environments. Proficient computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and business control software (Oracle). Ability to manage projects and activities in multiple locations with diverse groups of people. Strong leadership and motivational skills and the ability to develop leadership qualities in others. Ability to coordinate and organize multiple projects simultaneously. Well-developed analytical skills and knowledge of analysis techniques that assist in report preparation for decision-making purposes. Typically requires travel less than 5 - 20% of the time.
