Job Summary

The Center for Civil Rights History and Research is seeking to hire an administrative professional who will complete office administrative duties including but not limited to office supply ordering and organization, front desk phone operation, and assisting with the organization and administration of programs. Required Education and Experience High school diploma and previous relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services (at least one year). A bachelors degree may be substituted for the required work experience. Ability to travel for event planning, estimated 4-5 days per month. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors Degree Ability to balance multiple projects and self-manage deadlines. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Excellent written skills and strong verbal communication skills. Proficiency with typing and processing applications such as Microsoft Word. Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail. Ability to collaborate and achieve results with supervision, including the ability to interact professionally with key internal and external stakeholders as needed. Job Duties Job Duty Provide administrative support to the Center for Civil Rights History and Research, as assigned by the Associate Director for Operations and Communications. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty Assist with day-to-day operations of the Center including receptionist/front desk responsibilities, as well as general office duties such as maintaining the calendar, scheduling appointments-coordinating meetings, daily monitoring of the Centers email address, preparing/drafting office correspondence, processing invoices, travel requests and reimbursements as well as various purchasing and printing documents. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 35 Job Duty Maintain the organization of storage spaces within the Center offices, especially the Center merchandise. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty Provide administrative support to the Deputy Director in their Center for Civil Rights-related academic programs and partnerships. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Assist the Associate Director for Operations and Communications and on special projects for the Center.
