Our Client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Director of Human Resources in Washington, DC. This individual will lead the Human Resources function with a strong emphasis on quality control, attention to detail, and leadership. The role involves developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and practices that align with our Client's business objectives. The Director will anticipate HR implications of business initiatives, providing strategic advice and ensuring successful execution. The ideal candidate will be recognized for their ability to implement and achieve results, collaborating effectively on sensitive and confidential matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Policy Development and Administration: Develop, establish, and administer policies, processes, and practices that impact the selection, placement, retention, development, and rewarding of TMC employees to foster a high-performance, value-based culture.
  • Quality Control: Ensure timely and complete execution of HR plans and processes, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • HR Controls and Compliance: Collaborate with key leaders to ensure HR controls are in place for employment, compensation, benefits, healthcare, leadership development, training, and affirmative action. Ensure full compliance with all aspects of the Service Contracts Act (SCA) and other applicable employment and labor laws.
  • Strategic Staffing: Provide expertise and solutions for staffing and placement, partnering with key leaders on critical strategic hires.
  • Employee Relations: Manage complex employee relations issues from inception to resolution, counseling and coaching managers on performance issues.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise the company’s Human Resources staff, providing training and functional oversight. Develop and monitor metrics for continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
  • Business Trends and Practices: Stay informed about competitive business trends and practices, maintaining a current knowledge of employee behavior, operating problems, and organizational requirements.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure full compliance with the organization’s policies on government contracting and its "Code of Ethics," making sure all staff are aware and compliant with these policies.
Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: BA/BS in Human Resources or a related field; MBA or advanced degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive Human Resources Management experience, with a strong background in labor and employee relations, compensation and benefits, organizational development, and talent acquisition.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and experience with EEOC, AAP, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and the SCA.
  • Leadership and Team Building: Proven experience in building teams, quickly earning respect, and gaining confidence at all levels of the organization.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to be persuasive and compelling.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated high sense of urgency and a track record of on-time project delivery.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR information systems (e.g., ADP).
  • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel up to 5%.
