Die Cut Operator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Die Cut Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating die-cutting presses to produce products in alignment with company and customer specifications. This role involves reading production order forms, ensuring product quality, performing press maintenance, and training assistant operators as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Operations:
    • Read and interpret production order forms to produce products according to company and customer specifications.
    • Perform press make-ready, including adjustments for new product sheets (e.g., setting the feeder, locking up the die, setting strippers and blankers, and delivery adjustments).
    • Inspect sample cuts to ensure they meet quality and specification standards.
    • Identify, flag, and isolate defective loads as necessary.
  • Die Preparation & Maintenance:
    • Prepare, store, and repair dies to ensure consistent production quality.
    • Conduct minor machine maintenance such as oiling and lubricating machine parts.
  • Quality Control:
    • Utilize industry-specific quality measurement instruments to verify quality compliance.
    • Maintain accurate counts of materials produced and inventory supplies, following proper inventory protocols.
  • Equipment Operation & Safety:
    • Operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks.
    • Follow all tasks outlined in the production schedule and comply with safety standards within the facility.
  • Training & Teamwork:
    • Assist in training assistant operators and team members to meet production and quality standards.
    • Collaborate effectively within a team to achieve operational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Basic electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with both standard and metric tape measures.
  • Prior experience operating production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong reading comprehension and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for less than 1 hour and stand or walk for 5-7 hours daily.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 40 lbs; occasional lifting/carrying of items over 40 lbs.
  • Moderate manual dexterity.

Work Environment:
This role is based in a climate-controlled, indoor packaging facility, with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Compliance with all safety and operational protocols is required.
