About the Job:

Our client, an education institution, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Clerk to join their growing finance team. This is a contract position for about 2 months and then would determine if this would be permanent. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role.

As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable processes, ensuring the accuracy of payments, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting month-end closing procedures. If you are a proactive, organized individual who enjoys working with numbers and problem-solving, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and review vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Verify and reconcile purchase orders, invoices, and payment requests.

  • Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.

  • Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure up-to-date W-9 forms and other necessary documentation.

  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies or payment issues in a timely manner.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes, including accruals and reporting.

  • Prepare accounts payable reports and assist with cash flow projections.

  • Maintain organized digital and paper records of transactions for audit purposes.

  • Support internal and external audits when required.

  • Assist with additional finance and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.

  • Strong understanding of accounts payable functions and general accounting principles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting software (experience with [Insert Software Name, e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP] preferred).

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with vendors and internal teams.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Basic understanding of tax forms (W-9, 1099) preferred.

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but not required.



Pay Details: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour
